In February 2008 ABS and ABB Automation specialists completed special training on "Migration of MOD300, Advant/MOD300 to 800xA System" in Germany.

The training was conducted in English in ABB University located in ABB Automation in Frankfurt-on-the-Main. The training was related to the transition from old ABB systems (e.g. Multibus B&SC Advant MOD300) to the ABB state-of-the-art development IndustrialIT 800xA as well as to study the possibilities of new distribution control system.

ABS Engineering department specialists had some experience in revamping but the training enriched their knowledge and skill particularly when they acquainted with German specialists’ practice in updating the ABB out-of-date systems in Slovakia and Poland refineries.

The training was conducted on the base of test stand outfitted with controllers and family Advant MOD300, Multibus SC и IndustrialIT 800xA I/O modules as well as UNIX and Windows-controlled workstations.

The trainees were involved in self-practicum on database transfer from outdated to the new systems.
At the end of the training each trainee obtained international certificate.
