ABS ZEiM Automation updated the starters PBR-I for noncontact reversal control of one- and three phase motors

ABS ZEiM Automation (branch of ABS Holdings, Cheboksary) continues to engineer new products and enhance serial products constantly. The specialists of the factory updated PBR-I starters with microprocessor-based control for contactless reverse control of one- and three phase motors.

PBR-I updating included the implementation of additional functions:

  • analog control (positioner)

  • network control over RS-485 single or duplex circuit with protocol Modbus RTU

  • thermal motor protection

  • input circuit isolated 24V 30mA power supply

  • starter version for integration into KRUSA P bays

Analog control transfers part of control functions from the controller to the starter leading to release the controller hardware and software and enhance the entire system reliability.

PBR-I starters with additional network control function ensure controller KROSS-500 functioning in input-output mode providing to use them as intellectual cells for arrangement of ÐÒÇÎ intellectual cabinets. The updated starters correspond to version III of GOST P 50746 immunity to magnetic interference.

Thermal motor protection consists of electric drive transducer overtemperature signal processing by the starter. Upon overtemperature the starter trips the electric drive engine informs the operating controller of the failure.

Starter control over RS-485 field network makes it possible to minimize the control controller cable links and inputs, reducing cost of the processing facility control system. The places where enhanceâ reliability is required are provided with duplicated field network RS-485.

Starter input circuit isolated power supplies expand user capabilities to integrate control system therefore contributing to reduction of system cost and compactness increase. Using one of power supplies for BSPT-10 actuating device position transducer eliminates ÁÏ-20 power supply use.

By joint efforts of ABS ZEiM Automation and Progress factory specialists (Protvino, Moscow region) PBR-I starters are tailored for using in KRUSA P cabinets at Progress.

Unchanged PBR-I functions:

  • motor start/stop

  • motor reverse

  • motor braking at the signal switching off (regenerative braking)

  • short-circuit protection

  • overcurrent current

  • torque overload protection

  • open-phase protection

  • simultaneous “Forward” and “Back” commands interlock

  • “Inhibit” signal control interlock

  • preset-up positioning upon external signal "Failure"

  • setup of parameters, state control, RS-232 channel control by a portable board or a laptop

  • overcurrent protection setup by switching

  • Possibility of protection fine tuning by a portable board or a laptop

  • two 24V 30mÀ power supplies

  • self-diagnosis

  • loading power circuit operability monitoring

  • drive limit switches signal processing

  • travel position stop upon limit or torque switch signal

  • starter availability and functionality signal
